guess who found a display garden while vacationing in Michigan? :

Right after Nationals last weekend, I turned around and made a road trip up to west of Detroit Michigan last week. ÃÂ I was pleased to find a few display gardens with owners who welcomed me to see the daylilies. These flowers are from Phyllis Cantini's gardens. ÃÂ It was so much fun to walk along her flower beds and she guided me through all the flowers she's growing. ÃÂ She has a liking for spiders and UF's and quite a collection including many from Ned Roberts. ÃÂ I couldn't stop photographing the many many blooms!

I like Moonlit Pirouette, but the bud count doesn't look appealing. Your pic of Never Say Never is quite a bit darker than others on the web; but all the pics seem to vary. Do indeed show us some more from this garden!

Never Say Never is lovey with the cone flower to echo the color. It is my favorite. What a fun thing to do, thank you for sharing.

With the cooler temps up here, I'm not surprised at the dark color of Never Say Never. I especially like it in its darker version.

there was a discussion about registering daylilies at nationals this summer, and it came up that the description of a daylily is based on how the hybridizer describes the flower blooming in the hybridizer's location! and that's that. ha
however I think it's a wonderful thing that nature shows itself differently according to temperature and location and what a surprise in the variety of how a flower shows itself accordingly! I loved seeing this garden after a cool evening and with a cloudy sky above and just kept taking photos. lots of fun! :)

I like all of them, but Never Say Never and Moonlit Pirouette are my favorites. Phyllis used to post on one of the forums I have frequented, but I haven't seen anything from her in awhile. It's good to know her gardens are still beautiful.

What a pleasant surprise to visit a display garden in Michigan through your eyes! I have a penchant for UFOs and spider and really like the selections you have featured here. Especially the great color of Never Say Never. I also like the form of Bonniebrae the Freek. Fun name too!
