Well, they are daylillies, but I don't know the name of them.

I'm no help either, not at all good at identifying daylilies. It might help someone else though if you know the height of the daylily, what size flower, & its bloom season.

According to the photos metadata it they both bloomed in early July but did so much later this year probably because of the drought and grow about 2'. I've been looking at a lot of daylily images to identify these, would anyone object to them possibly being the fairly common stella & purple d'oro. Even though the one looks way more like magenta to my eye

STELLA and PURPLE DE ORO are both relatively short plants with small blooms 3" and under. From your photos and descriptions, I would think those are unlikely.

When I first saw the last photo I thought it was 'Arrogant B***'. (GW won't allow the full name because the last word can be misinterpreted as profanity). I looked up AB and it is 44" with a 6.5" flower, it is also ML blooming and described as burgundy violet. It can be seen at
