Oooh, Shores of Time is very pretty! Same thing happened here, the last blooms (all rebloom) were all so pretty. And look at all the buds on CRH, wow.
Asters are nice too. I have very similar-looking hardy chrysanthemums but they tend to grow so tall, and then they fall, I'd love to have them in such a nice mound like yours.

Nat4b: I looked it up in my records and the Asters are called Blue Knoll Heptopaperus. I bought the seeds from Parks. They stay a nice green mound all summer then burst into bloom in the fall.
Kay: This is the first year for SOT in my garden. The first flowers didn't always open properly but this last one is a beauty! There are quite a few other plants still with buds but there is a frost warning out for tonite.

The only Aster I've had long term luck with is Aster Oblongifolius "Raydon's Favorite". Our heat/humidty during the long summer is not kind to most other Asters. But it's a tallish Aster (3 feet) and I would love to grow another Aster with a lower profile such as the one you show. You started it from Seed? That's pretty amazing. I will check into it. Maryl, what I like about this aster is that it stays a nice dark green mound all summer but then explodes into color in the fall. I love fall color don't you? It's very easy to start from seed. Marg
