ot---back home again--plus garden pics

Some of you on the Forum knew that my mother was in failing health. Mother passed away Oct. 5th and I have been in MO until I returned a few days ago. I was very surprised to see that a number of our plants were looking really good, so thought they might be worth a look. There is one daylily there, Beautiful Edgings, truly remarkable plant, and Miss Victoria has three more buds left and Happy Returns is putting up a new scape. Avedon

Pink Muhly Grass is looking good--this pic taken about 3:00 p.m.

"Country Girl Mums" bought at Antique Rose Emporium years ago and moved with us to NE Texas. They always put on a beautiful show in the fall, pollinators love them.

Kronprincessen Viktoria Rose--we are getting many perfect roses from our bushes.

We don't know why the rose bushes have taken off this fall, but this one is getting so large it is crowding into the blue salvia next to it.

Speaking of blue salvia, this bush that we moved last year is totally huge now, loves the new location.

The Rosemary prostrata is also very happy this year, and it has many blooms on it now.

Here's my favorite rose, Devoniensis, looking so pretty. This bush has grown considerably, too, don't know what's causing this to happen.

The lantana obviously has something good going for it, too. Yesterday, there were lots of butterflies on it.

Here's Beautiful Edgings, blooming this huge flower Oct. 23. I'll stop with it, and maybe do another post in a few days. Thanks for looking.

Lovely, Avedon. So sorry about your mother. It isn't easy to lose your mother, regardless of the circumstances.

Your garden photos are lovely. I really like those little mums. The Lantana is showing too...that hot pink is the color I really like on Lantana. Your pink muhy grass is impressive. the fall flush of roses is so pretty now, isn't it.

First I want to say how sorry I am that your mother passed.

It is wonderful to arrive home and find a bounty of blooms waiting for you. I have to go look up lantana as your picture is enticing me to see if it will grow here. Would love to have that color here this late in the season. Rosemary does not winter over here unfortunately. Once we hit those very low temps, it is toast.

Enjoy your garden. It is nice to see so much color.

Avedon,
I was fearing that she would pass away and I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You have been a wonderful daughter and I am sure that she felt comfort in having you there with her. I know how difficult it can be in caring for an elderly parent, and in facing the reality that they are in failing health. My heart goes out to you.

Your flowers seem to be rewarding you for your caring heart. I hope that they give you some solace and peace at this difficult time. I especially love that blue salvia.

On a happy note, I am really glad to have you back on the forum! You were missed.

Sorry to hear about losing your mom, Avedon.

Your pictures are beautiful. Makes me homesick for our country place we sold in 2010. But it had gotten too much for us "old folks" to keep up with.
