scapes now - what to do?

I just went out to spread corn gluten on the daylily beds. Earlier this fall I moved daylilies around and didn't have time to pay much attention to those beds. I noticed today that Blueberry Candy and Mal have both sent up new scapes and each have buds. I know that with the nights getting cooler they probably won't survive so should I just cut the stalks off? Is there any chance of them maturing and flowering if I bring them in and put them in water? Any advice? Marg

Cut the scapes. If the buds are very small, they probably won't mature inside but what have you got to lose? Try it and see what happens.
Very cold here too and ones I have in the mudroom are not opening all the way.
