Well, I actually had two daylilies blooming today, a stella, and Sitting on a Cornflake is still blooming away, and it opens fully even with the cool mornings and rain. it is amazing.

Exotic Echo is also still blooming and pushing up more scapes!! It also looks alot different as it seems kinda washed out. That seems to happen with the really late reblooms. But still happy to see it.

Here is Babe, he is growing fast, has almost caught up to Whiskey!!! He is a joy to have and he stays close by. He is in the dwarf cherry tree.

Here is Bowie walking across the yard, This was taken today, and I did rake all the leaves yesterday!! Guess I will just chalk that up to getting some exercise! LOL
When these dry out , I will start to shred them to use as mulch.

Last weekend was wonderful, and my bulbs came and they were all planted. This was the smallest bulb order I have ever received. I got 25 light blue Hyacinth, 3 Pinball Wizard Allium, which is a giant blue allium, and 100 of the allium azureum, which is a tiny, but bright blue allium that blooms in June. 50 light blue muscari, and 20 pink muscari!! Hope they are really pink, we shall see!!
Here is Whiskey, checking it all out, it was his first bulb planting day and he followed all around checking my work!

I am working on the new bulb bed, that will be planted next fall. I am doing the lasagne method here. I know Rita does this and has good results. I did chop up the soil a bit to get out large roots, and cement left from a swing set that was here. I covered it with newspaper, sprayed it down with the hose, then I am adding layers of straw, compost, shredded leaves, peat, milorganite ( I read that milorganite would be great for the bulbs, when it is done in a layering method that will sit for a spell) Also throwing potting mix in from my potted annuals, Hopefully the earth worms will do all the work for me, and it will be ready to plant next fall!!!!

The mums are blooming nicely, here are the lavender ones that always bloom last. I do mulch these in very heavily with shredded leaves, and do not cut them back until spring, So far, I have had great luck with the mums returning every year.

Just a few fall pics to close out. Oh, thanks for looking at my blog!! Cindy

wow, cindy. them trees are amazing, so pretty.wish we had some like that around here, but its all pine trees here, and,I hate pine trees, only good thing about them is they wont hardly ever up root in a bad storm. the tops will break out snd fsll, but the tree pretty much stays anchored.Babe is so pretty.zi would have named it Morris, after the tv cat on commercials years ago. well, not so many years ago. ai think itd was in the early 80's when that cat was on tv commercials.Good to see Bowie.hes so pretty, and whiskey is out helping with the bulb planting, while babe sits in the tree watching. love the kitties. and Love your pretty fall pictures.

All those trees reflecting around the lake is soooo pretty. I love the fall and looking forward to the leaves getting a little more color here. It should be any day now.

I bought some giant allium bulbs too- now just have to figure out where to plant a 4 foot allium-it just sounded fun. This weekend I also need to get my new tulip bulbs in: Hope, Carnival De Rio, and Marguarita. I usually buy daffodils-but the ones I wanted were too expensive by the time you added shipping. Maybe next year.

I love how the fallen leaves give the garden a warm, cozy look, like it's wearing a quilt. That's exciting to have a new bed coming. Bulbs are fantastic, but I stopped getting them because my poor little garden is so crowded, I forget where I had them and kept slicing into ones I really loved.
Kitties are so cute- it must be nice to have snuggly friends while working.

Cindy, it will, it will. Your new bed that you are doing the smart way will be lovely rich soil by next fall and be a joy to plant in :-) I don't know how high you have pilled your layers but remember you should go higher than the blocks that contain the bed as it will compost down in volume.

Beautiful fall pictures of the lake and your garden. Such a pretty view no matter were one looks. Your trees look so lovely in the fall colors. Trees here have not even started to turn.

It is great to see all the kitties again, they all look like they are enjoying the fall garden. Babe really is a cutie and my how he has grown.

Cindy, They are all gorgeous, but the one with your bottle tree and the lake with the fall color just is such a pleasure to see!

Bowie looks as if he still owns the grounds, and Whiskey seems happen just to be "helping" you. Babe is growing like a weed, isn't he?

I can't believe you already have all the bulbs planted! t will take me longer than that, I fear.

Sitting On A Cornflake is a lovely bloom, isn't it? and your mums are so pretty and so seasonal.

I still admire your restraint in leaving a bed for fall. I seem to have to plant something!

It is always a pleasure to see your photos.

It's so nice to see some daylily blooms! Of course, the kitty pictures are my favorites. My daughter Tiffany would go crazy for Babe. She has been pressuring me for an orange tabby kitten and I told her that DH will not allow another cat! He says three is the limit. I love your fall scene...you are lucky to live on the water. It is so pretty and serene. I think I need to make a bottle tree. I have saved wine bottles from wineries DH and I have visited and had no idea what I was going to do with them.

Such beautiful fall pics! Love the lake shot and the leaves! The kitties sure enjoy being out in the garden hey. My dogs are the same; just happy to be following me around whatever I am doing. Thanks for sharing Cindy. :)

Love your garden pictures and of course your garden helpers, but my very favorite picture is of the trees reflected in the water. I've noticed that my daylilies are pale now too.
