? about fall planting in the north

It's been a month (slightly more) since I planted my new daylilies, and there is no sign of growth. I swore not to do it in September last year, but well, did it again.

One of the signs of 'everything will be ok' for me was that they grow new green leaves from the center. Those don't have anything, they look the same as when they were planted, except they are pale now.

Should I be concerned? Or they are just concentrating on root growth? :)

Last year I got lucky we had a warm fall, then warm winter, well, you know, like everybody, and they all survived. Plus they did have a bit of new growth after planting.

Ah, also, about the same time I planted couple more dls that arrived in a very bad shape. My DH said they were the worst he had seen. I didn't even make the labels for them, because I thought they were goners. Yet they are now all green with some new growth. Don't know what to think..
