I WANT THIS SO BAD...but it's $150. The most I've ever
spent (once) was $75.

Does anyone else have it? Any pics?

Help me! Argh!

Dani

Dani,
I feel your pain. I don't have it but I would like to see pics too. This is the only pic I've ever seen of it.

I agree Dani, it caught my eye too. It was pictured in an article in a recent Daylily Journal about Gerda Brooker. The person, not the flower. The price is still a little too steep for me too.

Here is a link that might be useful: Gerda Brooker Daylilies

another I KILLED!

I did not get it from Ms. Brooker-again I bought one from a TOP seller on the auction. It arrived and was about 3 inches tall. I have a small green house. I potted it up but it just did not make it. I have learned to wait and buy more than a single fan--I just don't have that much luck babying them.
I really feel that they should be able to grow with an IV!!!
LOL!! There went another 175$$$
live and learn--I do love this ONE and only picture of it!!

If you go to the lily auction and look in the upper right hand corner under the 'search closed' section, type in Victorian Gardens Star Bright, you will find a picture of that daylily in a garden setting.

It is a beautiful daylily.

I never bought a Gerda Brooker intro from anyone other than the breeder. I don't have that one but have only top praise for dealing with Victorian Gardens. I always got nice plants that took off for me.

I asked for more pics (she sent some) and it's STILL just as beautiful. I want it! It's a dbl fan, too. Maybe I'll just work some overtime? *sigh*

Just buy less. It is beautiful, very distinctive and you really want it. I say go for it.

It's on the LA. Single fan currently at $128. So a DF at $125 is a great deal! ;-)

yeah, I know. I saw that, too. I still am having a hard time spending $150 on a flower.

Dani: Perhaps if you wait and keep watching you may find other listings for it...You can't plant till spring anyway so time is on your side.

Julia- I've got my eyes open big time! But I think that since even a cross went for $47, that I might as well just get the plant in the end. I've still got a little bit of time to talk myself into it! Hahaha...she is a purty one!

@colette

I'm with you. I can not baby single fans as our nothern growing seasons are just too short. I need at least doubles.

I've also found that I need to stay away from fall daylily plantings as they just don't seem to have the vigor of spring planted plants.
