I just got it last year. It bloomed some, can't wait til it's as pretty as yours. I couldn't get it to set a pod, but it's pollen worked

It was a bit tender here since it is out of CLEOPATRA. I kept its sibling, WILD HORSES, which is much more vigorous but gave this away ( actually sent it South) this summer. It didn't grow very well at all and had only increased to about 4 fans. I'd had it for years!

My plant of Egyptian Queen didn't bloom at all this year!!!

I've had it 3 years, I think, and the first two it bloomed
very nicely but not this year. Well, I will give it a try
this coming season.

I like it very much.

I've heard that EQ can have mixed results in some gardens. Not sure why that happens.

I decided on WILD HORSES another kid of CLEO'S from the same cross. WH seems to have acclimated quite nicely here but others say they have problems with that one too.

The third sibling in the group, all children of the sometimes tender CLEOPATRA, (VOLUSIAN SPIDER)is also supposed to be hardier in the north. Of the three, WILD HORSES is still my favorite!

I'm thinking about getting Wild Horses as well. Egyptian Queen has bloomed almost continuously in its first year here, but it has not increased at all. The foliage is starting to look pretty bad. Considering that I divided five fans into two clumps, it's doing well. It is one of the only daylilies that did not burn here this summer.
