We kept watching to see how it was going to come across to Upstate NY. Just had very high winds and rain overnight. Temps were unusually high over the last couple of days here but soon will be dipping back down again.

The pictures from Illinois is heartbreaking but you can rebuild a home but not a life.

Jean just to let you know Lincoln was a little south of the biggest tornado Sunday. That tornado just missed downtown Pekin a town that connects with Peoria. So Lincoln is fine except for tree damage from wind gusts of 84 mph. I think there's perennial folks close to there,but maybe a long time before those who lost everything will be able to post again.

oh Pat;Thank you for this bit of news.I left Lincoln many years ago and have only been back twice since then and didn't remember exactly how far Pekin and Peoris is from Lincoln, but, I thought they are both less then 20 miles away..Thought pekin was less then 10 miles away.

Pat, I see you are in Zone 5.Are you close to Lincoln? I know Lincoln is in Logan County, but have never known what zone its in.

Jean, I'm about an hours drive north of Peoria in LaSalle county. Towns have certainly grown since are younger years Not much space between Peoria and Pekin. Lincoln is south of Pekin. They are also in zone 5.

ok, Thanks, you closer to Chicago then you are LINcoln.I would really like to see Lincoln again, but can't walk much now like I use to do., dues to arthuritis and falling a few times.Use to have to walk all over town in Lincoln every Saturday to help my grandmother.That was the good old days to me.
