Hi, Marg. Hope you didn't lose your power in the ice storm. Border Sentry is one of my fav Whatleys. It grows well here in zone 5, in Malagash, NS. I also grow Greek Effect[somewhat similar.] I grow a number of Whatleys and they all do well here. If you can find Khorassan it is another unusual blend. When I first saw BS, it reminded me of Beautiful Edgings, which I have and love. BS does have the midribs tho and I liked that feature. If it survives in Z5 for you, it should do just as well here. I'll keep an eye out for Korassan. Thanks for the input. We did not lose hydro here as we are about 1.5 hours north of Toronto. BTW, have you ever used BS for hybridizing? Marg

I just went back to the site where I had seen it and they had updated their page. In doing so they deleted BS but they replaced it with Khorassan for the great price of 5 fans for $5, a new thing they added this year. Marg

Hi, Marg. That's a great price for Khorassan. I think mine was $12. It clumps fast and people seem to comment on it when it is in bloom here. I've broken my clump up two times alrready and this is a rest year for it......Ram was just stunning here this year. Took it a bit to establish. French Lick was very nice but Guappa didn't bloom. Crumple had good bloom.His plants are excellent buys but Bears Paw and Butter Cream are among his best. BS did set pods for me but I never actually kept track of the seeds. It was a goof on my part....But I would imagine it would be a fine parent....cheers, lloyd
