Trees and shrubs for privacy

I also have a privacy issue. We just moved to Grants Pass OR and we have a very nice neighbor who has built a metal enclosure for privacy from "something". I don't want to know what he is enclosing. It is his private matter. But I do not want to look at it.

We have Leland evergreen trees to a point. The previous owner came by yesterday and was very informative. They suggested continuing the Lelands along the entire property line. I want some diversity in what I am looking at.

What do you suggest that could be fast growing, nice to look at and perhaps some "color" thrown in besides. The ground is rocky, small rocks. It is mostly fill area. We have about 100 feet to deal with.

Thanks so much.
