| What will tolerate being planted inside a dog kennel where it will be exposed to a considerable amount of dog urine. |

| Most people I know will plant a muscadine grape vine for vigor and qick shade to the animal. |

| I'd like to know this, too. My dogs have taken a liking to my roses, so I'd like to plant something that they can pee on without killing. |

| dont know if these will stand up INSIDE a kennel and to the constant abuse they would receive but they are touted as good plants to stand up to dog pee. http://www.collierescue.org/waterbowl/apr-2005.htm i was surprised to see hosta on the list too! Sue

| This isn't a plant suggestion, but may help you out. Try mulching the area real thick with a hardwood much. I have an outdoor cat cage with a run to the house. I mulched it actually to keep him out of the mud, but the area that did not grow much of anything is now a little too thick with plants! It makes sense if you think about it, the urine and wastes get absorbed by the wood and it composts. It has also solved the cat smell problem immediately as an additional plus! I suggested hardwood because it seems to be a softer and less pointy product than a lot of evergreen products. Also, it is a lot easier to clean, which I haven't really had to do this year! The cat buries his business. |

| I use a fast-growing flat type sedum just off my patio where my dog goes. It will die back some in winter (it is perennial but not evergreen), but regrows quickly. |
