bad winter: what didn't they eat?

This past Winter was very harsh in the Northeast. This year, they went after such deer resistant plants as my Japanese Plum Yew (Cepahalotaxus), and Inkberry Holly (Ilex). So what did the deer still NOT eat despite the severity of the Winter?

Here's my list:

Bamboo (Phyllostachys sp. and Fargesia)

any aromatic (Bay laurel, Rosemary, lavender)

Pachysandra

Skimmia japonica (which I understand are very aromatic, so that might explain their avoidance of it)

Boxwoods (Common, Dwarf English)

Nellie Stevens Holly

Blue Prince and Princess Holly

Magnolia grandifloras (any varieties)

Japanese Holly (Ilex crenata)

Butterfly bushes (semi-evergreen)

Also, they by and large did not touch the large-leaved Rhododendrons.--This surprised me most!

Common on Spring!
