I'm considering fencing a small narrow area for my tomatos. Figuring that they would avoid jumping into a 6' wide area. I'm going to put a low dome like cover of expanded metal fencing over my peppers and such. Comments or experiences? I'll also use invisible fence around the garden. I already use it on my shrubs and hydranga and the like.

I think that would work. Around here, in Maryland, we have heavy deer pressure as well. Some gardners have put up a completely enclosed wire box for some of their plants. I have some raised beds with wire around them to about 4 feet high. Sometimes I cover them with lightweight nylon mesh to keep the critters out.
