Looking for a ground cover...

Behind my house there is a horrible slope that is full of rock and chunks of concrete and a giant tree stump and who knows what. We would like to build a deck over it off the back of the house eventually, but that's not in the budget this year (or next, probably). Can anyone give me an idea for something I could plant that would cover this nasy mess for the present? I don't want to spend alot, that big money is for the deck! Th slope faces north and is in full sun, except, of course, when the house shades it. Due to the slope of the yard, it's 3 stories from roof to ground at the back of the house. Under the rock there is heavy clay soil. Anyone have any ideas?

You may try pachysandra. It takes some time to spread but it may be able to handle the north slope sun in zone 6. It works well in 7b heavy Georgia clay with afternoon sun. Its runners will cover most rocks. It will even do better when you add the deck and it is in more shade. At some point the concrete chunks have to go.

I have a side yard that slopes, which makes it very difficult to keep the grass cut. I would like it if someone could tell me of a low growing groundcover, that may or may not bloom that is low maintenance, and grows relatively fast. This side yard is very long and wide, it is a lot of ground to cover. If anyone can help, please let me know.
