Plants for Difficult Places

Flowers/plants near recessed deck

I just installed a deck and although it is nice the patio seems bare. The deck is recessed and it makes it hard to put flowers around it because there isnt enough sun. I wanted some color and wondered if you had any suggestions on what flowers/plants would grow in shade.

Foxglove (poisonous)and columbine work well in Georgia. Check hardiness zones. Wild ginger has some varigiation as a ground cover
