Hunh? Question about deer and berries

Newbie with a question here. I realize that if deer are hungry, there is very little they won't eat. However, I am stumped. Can someone explain to me why they ate my newly planted raspberries, but didn't touch - not a nibble off - my newly planted blueberries? This was about 6 weeks ago. I couldn't get fencing up immediately so took my chances and planted everything. 5 days later, when I come back to fence, all the blueberries were still intact but the raspberries were chewed to the ground. Is there any rhyme or reason to this? I'm in the lower Catskills, New York State. In fact, I haven't even bothered to put fencing around the blueberries yet, and they are thriving well within deer reach. Go figure. TIA
