deer going under the house

Our house sits above ground on piers. One side is not fenced - yet - and has an attached deck about 4 feet above ground. Some temporary wire fencing was blocking this deck area from the nearby fenced in garden that adjoins the other side of the house. Well, the fence came down somehow, and a yearling deer came under the deck and into the garden and ate a few things. So we blocked the passage under the deck area with rolls of wire. The taste of succulent foliage was just too much of a tempatation I guess, because the next morning the deer went around the piled up wire and under the actual house where the crawl space is more like 3 feet above ground. I just wouldn't have thought a deer would go all the way under the house like that. But he did. Just a FYI.

May your gardening offer you plenty of challenges.
