install deer fence now, or later?

I'm starting new here, and new to gardening.

I'm wondering: if you had it to do over again, would you just install the deer fence at the beginning? or would you take a wait, and let's see approach?

I know for sure we have deer. Lots. And lots of rabbits. I'm trying to decide if I should just get the deer/rabbit fence at the start?

Kelly,

I knew that I had deer, so I have a section of garden inside a fence and a very large flower garden outside the fence that is planted with deer resistant plants.

Since it looks like you're also in North Carolina, you can grow much of what I grow here. I have a gardening blog about my garden. If you look at the left sidebar under "My Topics" just click on "deer resistant" to see what plants I use.

Install the fence now. It will save you stress in the long-term, and you will be able to plant a much wider variety of plants.
