We live in a high mountain valley in Wyoming. Does anyone know if it is possible to plant perennial asters or tulip and daffodil bulbs in whiskey barrels? Would they survive winter snow and ice and actually bloom next spring/summer? Does anyone know other perennials or flowering plants that can make it over the winter in a half barrel planter?
