Plants for Difficult Places

Need Sub For Juniperus Green Mound

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a substitute for Juniperus procumbens 'Green Mound' (about 1' h x 6'w), for a Japanese-ish style garden, in Pasadena. It would have to be something around the same size, and would need to be oak root rot resistant, low water, and full sun. The Green Mound succumbed to the Oak Root Rot. :(

Any ideas?

It would have flowers, but perhaps you could live with that - one of the Grevilleas might suit. Or, if available, low-growing Coprosma - acerosa or repens.
