Corner Lot

Irish_Eyes

The majority of our property is a corner lot consisting of all lawn and a few large Oak trees. Over the years more and more dogwalkers feel it is their right to allow the dogs deeper into my yard to do their thing and destroy my lawn with urine. A fence is not an option so I'm looking for some suggestions for border plants (preferably that repel dogs!) or shrubs that can tolerate semi-shade and possible road salt in winter. The house is a typical New England Colonial so I would say that the hedge should be semi-formal. Thanks for any ideas!
