Drying Celosia

Hello everyone! This is my first time to this forum. It's great!

I am planning on growing a lot of celosia cockscomb in my garden this summer for fresh flowers and drying. I had posted a question about growing celosia in the summer in Florida, and another member said that the celosia always dries colorless after drying.

Is this true? Is there something special that I should do to protect the color?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Nancy

RE: Drying Celosia

Celosia may dry to a blah color if you leave it to dry on the plant, but if you pick it and hang it upside down inside it should retain its color fairly well. Cockscomb varieties tend to dry just a bit darker and less vivid than you see them in the field, but are still quite attractive.

Thanks neil allen. I was bummed when the other person said they dried colorless. You have inspired hope!
