| A friend of mine received a bouquet of some beautiful orchids that she'd love to preserve. Does anyone know of a good method to preserve them ? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I used fine kitty litter to dry Orchids from a funeral. It worked great! Patti |

| Thanks Patti for the tip but I just have one more question. Do you submerge the flower into the kitty litter? Won't that crush the flower? |

Hi Nookie, Yes....I completely covered them. I only had four flowers so I used a bread pan. I put in a layer of FINE cat litter and then made little piles that I sat the front part of the flower in. (I wanted to make sure the litter went up into the flower) Then I poured more litter on top to completely cover the flowers. Leave it sit for at least a week.... try not to mess with it at all. The clumping cat litter works great as it's fairly fine and super absorbant. When it's time to take them out you may need to use a fine brush to dust them off a bit tho. I got the info on the internet and it works really well. Good luck, Patti |
