Hi. I hope someone else who's dried sunflowers can help me. I'm trying to find a yellow variety to grow that has a large, dark disk, short petals, and is pollenless. The newer varieties of sunflowers have longer petals that enfold & cover the dark center when they're dried. I've seen pictures in magazines of sunflowers that look like what I want, so I know they exist, but none of the seed catalog selections I've seen fit the description.

I guess no one else has an answer for you, so I'll give it a try. I grew and dried sunflowers last year. The one I liked the best is Soraya. I got the seeds from Johnny's. They are a little on the orange side, but dried the way you described. They are about 3"-4" across, dried, and are pollenless. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply-it's very much appreciated. Something ate my Sunny and Soraya seedlings last year, so I never got to see what the blooms looked like. Your description is a big help. Thanks again!
