 o
cat litter or silica gel

Which is better to dry Hydrangeas? Cat litter or silica gel?
Can I cut them wet and let them dry for a day or two before I put them in a container to dry?
How mature do the plants need to be before cutting them to dry. I have a Snow Queen Oak leaf Hydrangea. Will this dry the same as the other kind?

RE: cat litter or silica gel

Between the two, I think silica gel would be better than kitty litter but it's really better to air dry them. Put them in a vase with about an inch of water and just let them dry. Then spray with Krylon anti UV sealer or Dried Material Preservative (DMP) Both are available at Michaels.
