Hibiscus

I pressed a hibiscus flower last summer after it bloomed. It came out beautifully--has retained its shape and color. I'd like to frame it but it has a "bump" where the flower meets the stem so it won't go behind glass. Any suggestions? I've been looking for frames for a year!

I'd mat it and put it in a shadow box.

Terri, take it to a framing shop...they can show you how to place little thin spacers between the backing behind your flower and the mat to allow room. Sounds nice. I have the Hibiscus coccineus blooming now and might try drying. Good luck. josh

Terri,

That has happened to me before as well. Usually a double mat will take care of the problem, and it makes the picture look even more elegant as well.
