Laminating pressed flowers

Posted by annie-1 (My Page) on

I have seen some beautiful pressed flower pictures in stores that seem to have been put through some sort of lamination process. I purchased a framed picture many years ago and the flowers are still as fresh and vibrant as the day I purchased it. Is there a particular piece of equipment that is required for such a process. It can be done on paper, board, glass, almost any medium. I have been pressing flowers for years but don't have any way of truly preserving them. This seems to work. Any help would be very much appreciated. Annie

RE: Laminating pressed flowers

Annie,

I laminate pressed flower bookmarks with a laminator from Sam's Club made by Royal Sovereign. It works great.
You can also try spraying your completed pressed flower pictures with UV resistant acrylic spray made by Krylon, or cover your flowers with a thin coat of Perfect Paper Adhesive. All of these methods decrease fading due to the UV resistant properties, and help seal out moisture. Also remember to use UV resistant glass when framing your pressed flower art.
Kind Regards,

Elizabeth
