What are you pressing new this year?

Hi, I have been using ceramic tiles for pressing and am delighted with the success I have had. I also can press flowers that always browned in the past. I am really excited by the Mandevillia flowers I have pressed in the microwave. They are spectacular and really hold their color. Just wondering what some of you pressers are pressing this year that is new. Kathy ~^~O

RE: What are you pressing new this year?

Kathy,

I'd love to see the Mandevilla flowers and any others you have dried in the microwave. Did you purchase your press or make it?

I don't have a microwavable press, but since I had luck with autumn fern last year, I've started pressing some of the crested ferns this season--Dre's Dagger, Frizzielle, Jimmy Dyce, etc., and have been very happy with the results. I also tried agastache, small bunches of alyssum, phlox (the light colors turn brown, but the deeper ones so far look good), echium flowers in small clusters, salvia horminium (air dries great as well), and purple asarina (the pink turned brown). I was happy with the results but have no idea how well the colors will last.

Thanks for posting.

Kate
