Drying/Pressing a rose...

Posted by MotownMum z6MI (My Page) on

Hello,

I just posted this on the Rose forum and then saw this forum!

Last year I hastily put two roses, one from a funeral & one from a baptism, into a press where they have sat for some months. I've never tried drying any sort of plants, but wanted to save these two special flowers.

Is there some sort of spray I could use on them? I was hoping to eventually put them in a scrapbook - somehow??

Also I see a small bit of mold on each of the roses. Am I too late?

TIA,
Jill

RE: Drying/Pressing a rose...

Such a nice idea to press a rose in memory of a loved one.
I don't think that its too late, if its been pressed that
long it now time to assemble it, I have never used any kind of spray, I usually mount it on the paper very carefully with tacky glue an frame it. It keeps the color beautifully
good luck. Shirley.
