Is there a best way or paper to dry pressed flowers on..... and to mount them on.... I know there are decorative papers..... are there any papers that help the plants dry the best or help the flowers or plant etc. last the longest..... i.e. acid free paper or cotton paper????? :)

I press mostly foliage and use phone books. But try www.herbariumsupply.com for blotting paper...some prefer it for flowers in particular. For archival (acid-free) supplies of matboard, mounting paper, etc. try Dick Blick. josh

Here is a link that might be useful: Dick Blick

For drying I use regular blotters that are made for standard plant press or very thick paper from the art store with high rag content.
For mounting I use acid free paper. It's relatively cheap at the paper stores (here it's ExPedX-the "old" Dixon paper store). I paid under 15 dollars for 250 sheets of recycled and acid free, heavy cover stock. They also sell justt about everything they have by the sheet (10-20 cents each) for smaller projects.

For pressing I use a few different methods. One is a microwave flower press (Microfleur)with thick felt pads. Another is the Sunwave press with layers of plastic grids, plastic needlepoint canvas, cardboard, felt, cloths and then repeated and bound tightly. Last is desiccant paper which is something like a watercolor paper but has finely ground silica gel embedded into the paper when it is made. They all work well for different kinds of flowers. I prefer the des. paper for whites especially. Contact me for more information and my free pages of pressing info at www.sonshinecrafts.com
