Drying Crabapples?

Posted by Kay_H NE MI-Z5 (My Page) on

I have a crabapple tree with hundreds of bright red fruits. I have this idea in my head of stringing them like cranberries and letting them dry. Has anybody tried this with crabapples? I have not been able to find anything on the web about this.

Thanks...Kay.

Haven't tried it but thanks for the idea. My tree is full of them. I know you can dry flowers in a microwave, so maybe you could dry crabapples in one. On the other hand, it might be easier to string them before drying, and just let them dry on their own.

I was just out looking at my Crabapple tree and I'm wondering if anyone has tried this yet? If so how did you do it and how did they turn out?
