Think these are curly willows. Have some in the field , green. Easy to root and grow if you have space and are interested.

Could also be cury hazel-known as henry lauders walking stick.
Search the site listed below for curly willow and for curly hazel for pictures of each.

Here is a link that might be useful: hortiplex

Maders: If you are still looking for curly stuff - Harry Lauder's Walking Stick, also known as Curly Hickory, makes wonderful accents in floral arrangements (and even by itself). Sorry you are not close by us (NY) or you could have more than you could use. It is grown on grafted stock so cuttings won't help. Curly willow is an adequate substitute. John R.

The shrub/tree is called "Corkscrew Willow". If you plan to grow one, know that it will grow quite tall and spread a lot. Willows also like water and may be invasive in your drainage system. Be careful!

I planted some rooted cuttings and after about 4-5 years cut the "bush" down and poured Round Up right on the fresh cut. It never came back. It was becoming a "monster"!! I still have the curly branches in my club basement to remind me never to do that again....

Does anyone have curly willow branches they could spare? I'm looking to use them in arrangements. Thanks

I will have tons of cutting for anyone wanting to start them. If you need info on them do a search for Salix matsudana. There is also a red one named scarlet curls. They are exremely easy to grow and root cuttings. If let grow can get 40 to 50 feet easy. They are a self pruner and a messy tree. You can prune them back to a stump and let them grow back every year.

For a picture of a curly willow heart, I make, go to.
