New to pressing flowers - have a question please..

Hi all. I would like to start pressing flowers before the season totally dies down. There are some beautiful flowers I really want to press. Can anyone give me instructions on how to make my own flower press that works? Thank you!!

How 'bout your phone book?? Thats an old reliable one that is very cost effective!!

I have had 'real' presses, (I made a few) and compared to my old phonebooks, they just don't impress me much. No pun intended.

But whatever you end up with, be sure to let us know what you liked best. HTH.

go to my website and request my free pages on pressing flowers. I use the phone books, Microfleur, Sunwave press, and hand made presses.

Here is a link that might be useful: Sonshine Crafts

I prefer to use an old encyclopedia with a hard cover. The phone books are so unstable that the flowers tend to move from the position in which I put them.

When in a hurry I nuke them between cardboard and paper towels with somethng heavy on top. GOod luck

Try putting them in an old paper back book and pressing them under the mattress for 3 days. If you leave them too long they lose their color.
