Hi, I would like to try pressing some orchid flowers and was wondering if anyone out there has tried it and what recomendations you might have? I am also concerned about any problems the column might give me. Also, is microwave pressing better than regular pressing? Does it help preserve the color better? Thanks, John

John, I've never had the opportunity to try drying orchids so was hoping someone else could help you, but I'm attaching a link which might help. Unless you paticularly want a flat pressed specimen, I'd think using silica gel either in or out of microwave would show the lovely form of the orchid better. Also I think using silica preserves the color better than pressing.
