Need a drought resistant turf

Posted by BlackForestSusie Colorado (My Page) on

I have a wedding meadow for my B&B in Black Forest at 7500 feet altitude.
I need a hardy drought resistant turf as my water will be severely reduced.
I read that there was a turf that only needed to be watered twice a month.
I also need soil prep to make this work
I was reading and now cannot find the post about the turf in Castle Rock,.

You can look into UC Verde buffalo grass and seashore paspallum. They do well in California. I'm not sure about Colorado. They both use much less water than a fescue.

Call a local gardening program on the radio in your area. They are always open to discussing suggestions for you.

Good luck!

I would ask at the local agricultural center. They have a horticulturist on staff.

Thanks for posting the reminder that we all need to be checking with our local Ag agents. Best advice anyone could have given.
