thyme dying between stones

Hi all,

I redid my front yard and put in all these flagstones. In between the stones, we have thyme put in, thinking that thyme is pretty hardy... Well it's the first summer since the thyme is in, seems like no matter how much I water, the thyme seems to die. My landscape guys thinks that the stone may be too hot in the sun and the thyme gets all dried up from the stone.

Does anyone have any remedy to this? Should I sprinkle the area with water a couple times a day just to relieve the heat?

There's a nursery in Austin, Tx called "It's About Thyme". Give those people a call. One phone call can answer all your questions and you'll be talking to the big dogs.
