1/2" of Rain today

I put a pan in the middle of the yard and measured. Wow!

It rained so hard and fast my crazy neighbor called and asked if we saw the dude on a surfboard riding the runoff on our steep hill. I told him I missed it. He said, "you should have seen it. He had a sign on his back "I'd rather be driving." Our road is steep, and it is banked for runoff, but heavy rains are a problem. This one was a downpour.

I know it's just a tropical storm. More is expected tonight and tomorrow. On top of that, our water district is limiting our water usage to 3 x per week for orchards and gardening. NOBODY can water anything on Sunday.

Well, you got a bit more than a 1/2 " this week, right?
We had 5-7" here north of SF, and are looking at more this week!
Hoping we're getting back to a normal rain pattern after 3 years of drought! Nancy
