Wow, beautiful. Thank you for sharing, it helps me feel motivated and inspired about my own garden as well (which is currently in that half-dug up stage)...

Thank you jumpin4joy. One of my neighbours did report me to the health austorities because she did not like me using composted horse manure. I sorted it with wit and support from the neighbours.

Absolutely beautiful. I've been trying to get my hubby to agree to let me take over the front lawn. I'm gonna be showing him your yard!!

Beautiful... I now understand and can see how edibles can be incorporated more freely... That is great for me, because i really lack formal garden space. I am glad I saw your post in time to plant!

Thanks for sharing.

PS...Is there an instruction page on posting pics? I might be blind, but couldn't find one.

You have to first upload your pictures on an image hosting site. I found a few instruction pages for sharing pics buried in the Cottage Garden Forum:

posting using photobucket:

posting using picasa:

yes... please share pictures :)

I found the way to embed phtos into a post using Photobucket was the copy the "HTML code" option under your photos on the site, and paste it here. Tada!

So Columbine is edible? Also, which plant is in the second close up--it has the most beautiful leaves.

RE: Pics Of Edible Landscape

The concept of the edible landscape is the judicious blend of both edible and non edible plants..so Columbine is non edible to the best of my knowledge! The plant you are asking about is Salvia Argentea and is currently getting huge. It puts out a lot of large flower stalks which have somewhat inconpicuous flowers (white) but its the foilage that is very striking.
