Does anyone know if any of the northern growing cacti pads and/or their fruits are edible?

What cacti are edible? I understand that the fruit of epiphyllum are edible.

Anyone?

I dont know what you mean by northern, but opuntia pads and fruit are edible. They are called 'prickly pear cactus'. They are actually very good, speaking of which, they are ripening their fruit at this time of year. My neighbor has a large plant ('nopal' is the name of it in spanish)

OOopps! Sorry! I am in Pennsylvania, and everything here right now is under snow.
