Portland swap next weekend...digging and digging

Posted by oldherb z8 Oregon (My Page) on

How does one get so many plants? I've been spending the day in the garden digging and potting up all kinds of stuff. Oreganos of all kinds, chives, mints, Anthriscus 'Raven's Wing' and on and on. I may even toss in some of my Oca that I just bought since it appears I won't have quite enough room for all of them. What was going to be just a few plants to share has turned into flats of plants (sigh).

Got the veggie garden ready to plant today too...better late than never I always say. Will set up a place for folks to eat next to it. It feels good to get things pulled together. The rattail radish which is usually growing in the veggie garden is in the front yard near the bird bath this year...not sure how that will fly visually but they are right next to the path and easy to reach (yum, I can't wait).

If anyone is interested in joining the swap the info is on my member's page...along with my trade list.

It was great!

Next one is in 2 weeks - click on OldHerb's Link for details; and also see the NW Exchange forum: SHARING GARDENS SWAP thread and browse Member Exchange links for people who are planning to attend. It's good to look at everyone's HAVE list first, and do a Post or email to ASK and OFFER what you have to share.

My link is above, btw. And lots stays home unless we know someone is interested, so please do not be shy. C Ya!

Just go the big update on my swap list and have several edibles on it.

Jules thanks for helping get the word out. I'm so excited...it looks like we are in for a decent day weather-wise (whew). I've got tents if we need them.

I still have to rake the backyard and lay down the straw...set up seating and figure out the table situation...

I'm gonna make chili to eat I think...maybe potato soup...depends on my mood...BarbE from WA is coming with her hubby and a few first time swappers. I've been passing out flyers at FM and everywhere I go so who know's who will show.

potluck & seed exchange too! RE: Portland swap THIS weekend

I made some Bananna Cake - not much sugar in it at all, and no frosting - so OK for calorie-watchers.

Am bringing cooking punkins - if you grab one, remember to roast seed as well as the flesh after Halloween, and save some of the more mature seed for planting next spring.

First time Winter sowers - or Open-Sow only lazy-heads, see my Seed list in my link above. I'd love to clear some out - but may not bring much unless folks ASK. OK to call me for a last minute item - cell:503-809-9697.
