Hi All:

We have planted beet berries and were wondering if anyone has a picture of a seedling. We are trying to differentiate it among the weeds that have invaded our garden plot. Thanks for any help out there.
Joey

I'd like to know how your Beet Berries did? Did you harvest any seeds?

Has anyone ever grown beet berries before. I planted them this year because they looked interesting in the cataloge but all I am getting is leaves on a low growing plant. I thought they were suposed to be a couple feet tall and have red berries on them. Help!

Nanny --that is the normal growth pattern. It grows a basal rosette of leaves sort of like pointy spinach but smaller, and then starts to shoot up the stalks that will bear the fruits.

Its actually a cute plant. When I used to work as a florist, I would often cut it and take it to work and put into arrangements, because it looked nice AND I knew if some dog or toddler ate it it wasn't going to be a problem (you would be amazed at what people let their kids and pets get into!)
