Pomegranate pollination?

I have a Russian variety about 6' tall and 3 1/2 yrs old and plenty of flowers, but they all seem to be dropping. Last year they did the same thing, and though I see insect activity in other nearby plants, I am not seeing bees or anything on the pomegrante. Therefore, I was going to attempt hand pollination, but I don't know if the male and female parts are on the same flower or exactly how to ID them (flowers always seem closed tight where hard to see inside). Any advice on hand pollination of pomegranate would be helpful (I can't find any pics on the web).
