Questions about raspberry primocanes, etc.

Hi All,

Is a raspberry primocane the same as a sucker?

I ask this as I have a weedy plot of raspberry bushes and i've been doing some extensive weeding lately. Not sure if it's possible that i've been ripping out some small primocanes in the process! I'd like to have a raspberry crop next year! :) If so, is there any way to recognize them?

They're the same thing. If you leave the ones in the row, you'll have berries.

Ok, it looks like there are plenty of new primocanes coming up now! I have 7 bushes and they all have between 3 and 6 primocanes sprouting up. Just wondering how many primocanes I should keep per bush?
