Help me graft/root my Sargent Cherry--it's dying.

My BEAUTIFUL old Sargent Cherry tree is being cut down as we speak. It is nearly dead, because the previous owners of the house killed it. It still has one section that is living, with lots of good leafy branches. Although the whole tree must come down for safety reasons, I would like to try to

A) Graft some of the new shoots into the remaining trunk/stump that will be left.

B)Root some twigs and plant them in another area.

Please help me graft and root these. The old tree was beautiful, and I'd like to have a part of it live on. I will post a reply with a picture. Thank you.

Any good websites on grafting cherries into existing stumps? Or rooting twigs?
