Will Paw Paw fruit in shade if the tree top above receives sun?

I am thinking about planting a Paw Paw behind a tree which gets about 25' tall and wide.

Since both trees are saplings, pretty much by time the tree in front of the Paw Paw is grown, the Paw Paw its self will be about the same high and is able to grow taller so that it can compete for sunlight.

For these years, it will get enough light, but eventually it will be shaded. I believe that the Paw Paw will grow taller then the tree in front of it... so, the top 5 or 10 feet should it grow to 35' tall will get full sunlight. Will it produce enough fruit because of the top most portion of the tree getting full-sun? And if the top level fruits are largest and best, will I want to shake the tree so that they fall to the ground, or will they be damaged too much when they fall?

Thanks,
Steve

Pawpaw is considered an understory tree and grows rather slow. You may consider shading the pawpaw for the first two years until the taproot has a chance to grow.
