herbicide that kills mayapple

Do you know of a herbicide that will kill mayapples?
I dug these mayapples last year but they returned this year. When I dug last year I was careful to dig up all the root since I knew then that any tiny piece of root would generate a new plant. |

| I would imagine that round up would take care of them. Possibly a broadleaf killer like 24d also. |
