 o
best variety of rhubarb?

I want to plant some rhubarb but am not sure what is a good variety. A friend has two varieties, one with red stems that she loves, and another that is all green called Victoria that she hates. She said the Victoria wasn't that tasty.

Unfortunately the only variety I've been able to find in garden centers is the Victoria. Has anyone had good experience with this one? I almost bought it today but didn't because of my friend's experience. Then I thought that maybe she just had an inferior plant.

Or is there another kind that you might recommend? I could try looking in some garden centers further from my home.

I think Victoria is superb.

Thanks, I ended up buying the Victoria after all. I wasn't able to access these forums to read any responses for a couple of days and just bought it today. It was only $4, I don't know what I was worrying about. If I don't like it, I can mail order another variety next year. Sometimes I forget that it's just a plant, not a lifetime commitment.
