| Scarleta- I have tried to grow rapini or raab but mainly in spring. It has to be watched carefully as it will bolt very fast in spring for me. It also needs very fertile or rich soil to get much size. I think it may do better from a summer sowing. I'm planning to sow it more in mid summer this year. I really like wild red kale, which has frilly leaves and does very well, and self-sows. |

| Very easy, just sow thinly in rows or blocks and stand back. My Italian packets say year round, but they are slowest to go to seed in the autumn when the weather cools. Start picking them as soon as the little plants are edible sized - that way you can thin them and later pull out those going to seed fastest. |
